Course Description
Art I is a foundational course designed as an introduction for beginning art students. Students will have the opportunity to experience a variety of media and styles. This is a hands-on class that introduces art history, art criticism, aesthetic judgment and studio production. The curriculum emphasizes the ability to understand and use the elements of art and principles of design through a variety of media, processes and visual resources. Students explore master artworks for historical and cultural significance.
